One moment I’m stepping off of the plane the next moment I’ve been here for more than a month!
Here’s a funny story for you:
last Friday was a hot day full of soccer, hiking stairs, and playing with a bunch of little kids. One of the games we played with the kids was everybody made a line in downward dog and the person on the end would crawl under everybody else to the other side. Me being a little bit larger than than the 5 to 10 year olds had to do a bit of a slither/army crawl through the dirt to the amusement of the kids and myself, barely squeezing by.
You get the picture, we got back to base sweaty and dirty, just in time for dinner. After dinner it was my teams turn to clean up. I was getting ready to mop, absently thinking about the shower I was going to take, when suddenly I got a shower before I expected. I dropped the mop bucket into the sink where I was going to fill it up but it hit the spigot on the way down a powerful jet of water shot up to the roof, out towards me, and all over the girl who was doing laundry next to me. I started laughing so hard I couldn’t get my words out. Brave Emily saw what was happening out the window and sacrificed herself covering the open spigot and blocking the water. The next few minutes we’re “somebody call Manuel! The water is broken! We need Manuel!”
15 minutes later Manuel showed up and shut off the water. Unfortunately this was followed by him saying that we might not get our water back that night and maybe not even the next day. Yikes! It was a crushing blow, no showers for the whole squad. Oopsies.
Luckily for us, Manuel came back after an hour of tinkering around, with the joyous news that the water was restored! Praise Jesus!
This is my silly blog, I’ll send another with more updates on what we’ve been doing in ministry soon.
Love you so much,
Rosella
You look so happy with that child!❤️
